Situated in what was once the militarized “death strip” of the Berlin Wall (or Mauer) that divided East and West, Mauerpark is now a social, cultural, and artistic center of the city. While it is best known for the flea market, karaoke, and street musicians it hosts every Sunday of the summer, Mauerpark is always a popular public site, a thriving green space, and a historical landmark at the heart of Berlin.
